FTE: 1.0 FTE working 37 hours per week
Duration of Contract: Fixed term contract to December 2020
Salary: £24,029 pa with the potential to progress to £27,025 pa by annual increments
Location: De Havilland Campus, Hatfield

We are seeking an applicant to join the Careers and Employment team who will be responsible for undertaking a range of administrative duties relating specifically to the UH Incubation project.

Main duties and responsibilities

You will be proactive in the corresponding teams, working collaboratively to organise activities for the project, in addition to acting as a first point of call as the project's frontline service advisor. You will ensure accurate and correct completion of department-related administration in full compliance with legal requirement, University requirements, and ERDF requirements. You may be expected to assist at key events, including some out of hours working via Incubation meetings.

You will be based in the Careers and Employment Service, working closely with the Enterprise Team, supporting their services for students and graduates. There may be the need to work across departments from time to time, to best support the aims of the project and the recipients of the incubation and enterprise services.

Skills and experience

You should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer care, including a polite, helpful and confident telephone manner, have good IT skills, including the use of MS Office and Databases plus web packages. The ability to collect, process and present data and experience of organising meetings and minute taking is essential. You should have a methodical approach and attention to detail with the ability to work to tight deadlines, dealing with conflicting priorities and to work accurately under pressure. A willingness and ability to work flexibly and to adapt to changing demands will help to ensure you are an effective team worker who is able to demonstrate initiative and the ability to learn new skills.

Qualifications required

You will be educated to A-level standard or equivalent, or have proven professional work experience, including experience of providing administrative support and a customer-focused service in a complex and dynamic organisation.
